Sif has been granted ‘Strategic Project’ status for its offshore wind foundation production by the European Commission and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy under the Net-Zero Industry Act.
The designation identifies the project as important for accelerating the energy transition and supporting European manufacturing capacity. By prioritising such projects in permitting and access to financing, Europe aims to strengthen its domestic industrial base while supporting the deployment of offshore wind. The approach is intended to improve supply chain resilience and reduce reliance on external manufacturing.
