A permanent extension of the wind-energy production tax credit is included in President Barack Obama's proposed fiscal 2016 budget.
The investment tax credit, which also applies to solar energy, also reportedly is part of the proposal, along with US$ 7.4 billion that would go toward developing clean energy technology. The President's budget is likely to face oppostion from Republicans, who now control the Senate and the House of Representives.
