The government of Chile has joined the Global Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA). With over 6,000 kilometres of coastline and strong wind resources, especially in the southern regions, Chile has significant potential for offshore wind development.
GOWA was launched by the International Renewable Energy Agency, Denmark, and the Global Wind Energy Council to accelerate global offshore wind deployment in support of net-zero goals.
