Suzlon Rotor Corporation (SRC), a subsidiary of Suzlon Energy Limited (SEL) of Pune,India, has announced the production start of its facility in Pipestone, Minnesota, USA which manufactures wind turbine blades and nose cones.

The successful start up of SRC was due in part to its partnership with Minnesota West Community and Technical College, which last year obtained grants and funding to help get proper training for both Indian and American employees on manufacturing wind turbine blades. A sister facility has also been built on the same campus to serve as the after-sales operation and maintenance of Suzlon turbines located in North American. The 27,500 sq. ft. Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation Operation and Maintenance Facility will serve as the centralized office for all turbine service and maintenance, while also housing the company's 24/7 wind turbine remote surveillance program and spare parts. This particular facility reports to Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation of Chicago Illinois; the American-based sales subsidiary of Suzlon.
