Suzlon Windenergie GmbH has announced its intention to make a counteroffer to the takeover offer for REpower Systems AG released by the French AREVA S.A. on 5 February 2007.
The counteroffer by Suzlon Windenergie and the Portuguese steel construction company Martifer, represents a cash offer of € 126.00 per share (which corresponds to a market capital of € 1.02 billion). As REpower Systems AG does not yet dispose of the offer documents, the Management Board is at present not yet in the position to comment on the offer made by Suzlon Windenergie GmbH, especially with regard to its implication for employees, company sites or customers.
