In 2006, REpower Systems AG advanced from fifth to third place in the ranking of the largest manufacturers of wind turbines in Germany. With a market share of 7.6 per cent for the newly installed output of 2,233MW last year (previous year: 1,808 MW), REpower established itself behind the competitors Enercon and Vestas and in front of other suppliers such as GE Energy, Siemens and Nordex.
