The Port of Rotterdam Authority (Netherlands) plans to develop a 45-hectare terminal in the north-western corner of the Maasvlakte for offshore wind operations. The site will support storage, transport, pre-assembly and delivery of turbine and foundation components, with direct nautical access to the sea and heavy-duty quays. The terminal is expected to be operational by mid-2029.
The terminal will feature 835 metres of quay capable of accommodating the latest offshore wind installation vessels, including jack-up vessels and pre-assembly activities. A roll-on/roll-off facility will support multiple transport modes. The terminal will also be equipped for the decommissioning of offshore wind farms.
