ABB has finalised its acquisition of Gamesa Electric, the power electronics division of Siemens Gamesa. Gamesa Electric specialises in wind converters for doubly-fed induction generator systems, industrial battery energy storage, and utility-scale solar inverters.
The deal, first announced in 2024, brings a business with annual revenues of €145 million (FY ending 30 September 2025) and around 400 employees across India, China, the USA, and Australia. It also includes two converter factories in Madrid and Valencia, Spain. ABB has also signed a new supply and services agreement with Siemens Gamesa to ensure operational continuity following the acquisition.
