Ocean Winds has completed installation of the final turbine at the Îles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier (EMYN) offshore wind farm and finished construction works, marking the transition to full operations. Located off the coast of Vendée in France, the EMYN offshore wind farm is now fully installed and operational.
Since June 2025, the project has progressively supplied electricity to the grid as turbines were commissioned. The wind farm comprises 61 turbines and generates renewable electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of around 800,000 people.
During construction, the project supported the development of a regional industrial ecosystem, creating approximately 2,400 direct and indirect jobs. As the project enters the operation and maintenance phase, around 80 long-term direct roles will be established, including 66 positions based on the island of Yeu.
Ocean Winds will now focus on long-term operation and maintenance of the wind farm. The company is a joint venture between EDPR and Engie.
