CPV Renewable Energy Co. has closed financing to build its 165.6MW Cimarron wind energy project in Gray County, Kansas, USA.
The project is made up of 72 2.3MW Siemens wind turbines. CPV REC has entered into a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Tennessee Valley Authority, as part of the latter's 2009 Request for Proposals for renewable generation. It started the construction of the wind farm last month and anticipates the farm to start commercial operation by this November.
