Allete Clean Energy (ACE) has finalised a development agreement with Montana-Dakota Utilities, a division of MDU Resources Group (MDU). Allete Clean Energy acquired the rights to develop a wind farm near Hettinger, ND, about 100 miles southwest of Bismarck.
ACE will develop and construct a 107MW wind farm on the site using 43 N100/2500 turbines from Nordex. Nordex also received a service contract for a period of at least five years. After development the project will be sold to Montana-Dakota for approximately US$ 200 million. Montana-Dakota will own and operate the project for use by its utility customers. Construction of the project is expected to be completed in December 2015. The purchase is subject to regulatory approvals.
