Gestamp Wind, the Wind division of Gestamp Renewables has been awarded with a 20 year PPA for Copperton wind farm, a 102MW wind project located in the Northern Cape (South Africa).
Copperton Wind Farm was submitted for Round 4 in August 2014, it has been selected Preferred Bibber under the REIPP Program (Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Program), managed by the Department of Energy of South Africa. Signing of the PPA and start of construction is expected by the first quarter of 2016, and the scheduled commencement operation date for late 2017. The project will result in approximately € 150 million of investment.
