Gentari and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for an 80MW wind project in Tamil Nadu, India. The PPA follows a collaboration agreement signed between the two companies in 2023. The wind project is scheduled to begin operations in mid-2027 and is expected to produce around 300,000 megawatt-hours of electricity per year.
The signing was marked by a document exchange ceremony attended by representatives from both companies. Gentari was represented by Chief Renewables Officer Low Kian Min, and AWS by Managing Director of ASEAN Jeff Johnson. The event was witnessed by Gentari Chairman and PETRONAS President and Group Chief Executive Officer Tengku Muhammad Taufik, Gentari Chief Executive Officer Sushil Purohit, AWS Vice President of Global Services Uwem Ukpong, and PETRONAS Senior Vice President of Projects, Technology and Health, Safety, Security and Environment Ir Ts Mohd Yusri Mohamed Yusof.
