The Floating Offshore Wind Power Technology Research Association and Lloyd's Register have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore cooperation on technology development for floating offshore wind. FLOWRA is a technical research association that collaborates with international organisations to develop common technologies aimed at reducing costs and risks in floating offshore wind.
The partnership will focus on aligning technology development with international standards, including design, construction and operation practices. The aim is to support the wider acceptance of Japan’s floating offshore wind technologies. Lloyd's Register will contribute certification and energy asset assurance expertise to support risk reduction and improve project development processes.
