EnBW and Siemens sign contract for the supply of 80 wind turbines

EnBW Erneuerbare Energien GmbH and Siemens Energy have signed a contract for the supply of 80 wind turbines to the offshore wind farm EnBW Baltic 2. Each turbine will have a capacity of 3.6MW and a rotor diameter of 120 metres. EnBW Baltic 2 (previously Kriegers Flak) will be located approximately 32 kilometres north of the island of Rügen in the western Baltic and cover an area of approximately 27 square kilometres. First maritime civil works are scheduled to commence as early as 2012. EnBW Baltic 2 will have a total capacity of 288MW and is scheduled to come on line in 2013.
