Buchan Offshore Wind, the developer of a 1GW floating offshore wind farm situated 75 km northeast of Fraserburgh on the Aberdeenshire Coast, has officially presented its Offshore Scoping Report to the Scottish Government's Marine Directorate.
This report outlines project details and the Environmental Impact Assessment approach, inviting stakeholders to offer input and engage in the scoping procedure. Additionally, the Project Development team plans to host public exhibitions, both in-person and virtually, during the upcoming autumn, providing interested parties with the opportunity to delve deeper into the project and share their insights. Buchan Offshore Wind's partners in this endeavor include BayWa r.e., a renewable energy company with offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh; Elicio, a Belgian offshore wind developer, owner, and operator; and BW Ideol, a floating technology firm and co-developer of floating wind projects.
