The Waubra wind farm will be the second wind energy facility installed by Acciona in Australia. The Waubra wind farm is located northwest of the town, in the Ballarat and Pyrenees territory. Construction will begin in September. A € 30 million (AUS$ 50 million) investment has been pledged for the first phase. A further € 208 million (AUS$ 350 million) will be committed in early 2007 to continue the first stage of work through to completion of the wind farm in early 2008. Financing of the project will be provided jointly by Acciona Energy and ANZ Investment Bank, through its equity management arm, ANZ Infrastructure Services Limited.
