A2SEA to install the Netherlands’ first offshore wind farm

A2SEA has been selected as the turbine installation contractor for the offshore wind Egmond aan Zee project, developed by Shell WindEnergy BV and utility Nuon. The company was selected for this prestigious contract by the marine installation contractor Ballast Nedam Offshore Energy BV, a partner of the BCE ‘Bouwcombinatie Egmond’ for turnkey delivery, joined by Ballast Nedam and Vestas. The wind farm will consist of 36 Vestas V90/3.0MW turbines, with a capacity of 108MW, and will be the first offshore wind farm in the Netherlands. The work will comprise the sea transport and installation of all wind turbines and is due to begin in June 2006.
