Composites manufacturer Saertex USA is to expand its production facility in North Carolina, with a US$ 6.5 million investment over the next three years.
The company, which makes materials for a range of industries including the wind power sector, is planning to create 178 jobs in its expansion at the site in Huntersville, Mecklenburg County. The project has been supported with a $110,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund. The expansion of the US plant is a result of growing demand for lighter components that save energy. The Huntersville facility opened in 2000, and currently employs 126 people.
