RWE is initiating a dedicated Fleet Servicing Team comprising an initial 30 personnel for the UK and Germany, aimed at supporting its expanding international offshore wind fleet. Initially, the team will concentrate on five operational projects off the UK and German coasts, with the company aiming to triple its global offshore wind capacity from 3.3GW today to 10 GW by 2030.

To implement this new service, RWE has entered a three-year agreement with Global Wind Services to provide a team of expert team leads and technicians in both the UK and Germany. The Fleet Services team will collaborate closely with RWE's existing operations and maintenance teams. Additionally, RWE has secured an 18-month contract with Rem Offshore/Rem Purus to utilise the service operation vessel Rem Wind in supporting RWE's offshore wind fleet servicing.

The Fleet Services Team will operate 24/7 and will be stationed aboard the service operation vessel for 14-day rotations. Consequently, RWE anticipates being able to provide up to 500 services annually. Crew changeovers for the Rem Wind will be facilitated in UK and German ports. Over the course of three years, it is projected that this newly established service model will generate 70 new jobs, including positions for wind technician apprentices and graduate placements.
