The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has announced its approval of the New England Wind Construction and Operations Plan (COP), which authorises the construction and operation of two wind energy projects. This is the final approval of these two projects from BOEM, following the agency’s April 2024 Record of Decision.

Equinor and Polenergia joint venture companies, leading the development of the Bałtyk 2 and 3 offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea, have signed a Capacity Reservation and Early Works agreement with the consortium of Smulders Projects Belgium and Sif Netherlands for the manufacturing of 100 Transition Pieces for both projects.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is supporting the construction of a new 1.1 gigawatt (GW) wind farm in the North Sea by RWE with a loan of €1.2 billion. The Thor wind farm, located in the Danish part of the North Sea, will consist of 72 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 15 MW provided by Siemens Gamesa.

Vestas and LEAG have finalised an agreement for a 105 MW order for the wind energy project 'Forst-Briesnig II' in the Lausitz region of Germany. Vestas will deliver 17 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines, with the order covering the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines.
