Sander + Partner has lunched its WindExplorer. This online tool supports wind engineers for the critical preselection of long-term wind data.
It visualises four different sources of wind data: MERRA, CFSR, ERA and the World-Wind-Atlas. The WindExplorer allows a direct comparison of wind indices formed from these four data sets. It detects the changes of the wind's distribution from year to year or discovers the inter-annual distortion of the wind rose. The global coverage and the inclusion of the most important global data bases offers a unique feature for a quick pre-analysis. Any location world-wide can be explored. The WindExplorer is an open source project and free to use after registration on the company’s home-page.
