Gamesa has signed a contract to build, deliver and install a 50MW wind farm as a turnkey project for Globeleq Mesoamerica Energy (GME) in Costa Rica.
Gamesa will install 25 of its G87-2.0MW wind turbines in the Orosí wind farm, financed by multilateral funding from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (US Ex-Im Bank), the Dutch Development Bank (FMO) and the International Bank of Costa Rica (BICSA). The wind farm, in Guanacaste region, is expected to be finished at the end of 2014- early 2015. Gamesa will also develop all necessary infrastructures for the project's installation and operation, including an electricity substation, a high-tension line and the site's connection to the power grid. Furthermore, it will carry out operation and maintenance (O&M) services at the wind farm for a period of 5 years.
