AREVA has announces that it has waived the minimum acceptance condition (50 % plus one REpower Share) applicable to its public takeover offer for all outstanding shares of REpower Systems AG.
As a consequence, in accordance with applicable law, the acceptance period for the offer has been extended to 4 May 2007, 24:00 hours (Frankfurt am Main local time) / 18:00 hours (New York City local time). In accordance with Section 8.2 of the Suzlon Offer, this implies that the acceptance period for the Suzlon Offer is also extended until 4 May 2007, 24:00 hours (Frankfurt am Main local time) / 18:00 hours (New York City local time). The amendment of the AREVA Offer is [in accordance with sec. 21 para. 2 WpÜG] published on the internet at the website www.repower.areva.com and is also available for distribution at BNP Paribas Security Services, Frankfurt Branch. The announcement regarding the availability of the amendment for distribution is published in the Electronic Federal Gazette on 17 April 2007.
