Moventas Gears Oy begins cooperation negotiations with its staff on 7 January, 2013 concerning temporary layoffs for financial and operational reasons.
Moventas’ need for adjusting its operations is due to an insufficient order backlog for H1/2013 in proportion to the number of staff in Moventas’ home base in Jyväskylä, Finland. The temporary layoff need concerns Moventas’ entire Finnish staff, and the layoff period will vary by personnel group during the first half of the year. Production of Moventas’ Finnish company has been centralised in Jyväskylä at the end of last year. The company also has Finnish staff in Vantaa and Karkkila. Moventas employs a total of 635 people in Finland and 970 people globally.
