GBT established a subsidiary in India and is officially registered as General Blade Technology Pvt Ltd. GBT has had engineering services in India from the beginning, and now plans to begin mold production and prototype blade building in the first quarter of 2011.
In addition to the current engineering, design and consultancy activities, the new facility in the Vadodara area will give GBT a manufacturing base for smaller blades. The India operation will be led by Manish Mukherjee, a six sigma master blackbelt with a long history in blade manufacturing and materials. GBT also announced plans to extend operation into China. The new commercial and engineering office will be centrally located in the heart of the blade building region of China. Recruiting of commercial and applications engineers is underway.
