On the occasion of the 8th?World Wind Energy Conference 2009 on Jeju island, Korea, Dr. Anil Kane was re-elected unanimously as WWEA President.

He reaffirmed that under his leadership WWEA will continue to spread awareness of the benefits of renewable energy, with a special focus on developing countries. Also WWEA will continue its efforts to bring together all organisations working in renewable energy. The WWEA General Assembly elected the?Hon. Peter Rae AO, Renewable Energy Generators Australia, as?Senior Vice President. As?Vice Presidents?of the World Wind Energy Association were elected:
