Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica expects to close the year 2005 with a net income derived from continued activities up to € 190 million, 9% higher than in 2004. After the strong growth experienced in the Spanish market, Gamesa has decided to redefine its strategy, focusing on renewable energy and geographical expansion, especially in the USA and China.
The actions that Gamesa has under way, in order to get ready for this new stage, are the organisational restructuring, the spin-off of the Aeronautic division, and a rise in financial facilities, to increase the production capacity in foreign markets. The strategy of past years permits Gamesa to benefit, this year and those following, from the high growth of the wind energy sector in foreign markets, especially in the USA and China, as well as from the strong position of the European market (mainly in Spain). To meet its growth targets, the company will install facilities for assembly or wind component manufacturing in the USA, China and Portugal.
