REpower Systems AG has acquired a location for the operation of its REpower 5M type wind energy turbine in the DEWI-OCC test field in Cuxhaven, Germany. After signing the location agreement at the end of last year, REpower has now attained the corresponding construction approval for the turbine.
The 5M is due to be installed on a North Sea bank in October 2006 and will enter operation in November. The investor and operator is the energy company EWE AG, which is located in Oldenburg/Niedersachsen. The required approval for operation has just been granted by DEWI-OCC (Offshore and Certification) GmbH.
