Airtricity has announced that it will recommence building wind farms in Ireland for the first time in two years. Airtricity will double its existing generation capacity through the development of sites at locations in Limerick, Cavan and Wexford.

In support of this development and its international expansion, the company also noted that it has successfully raised €130 million, which will fund development both at home and abroad. Airtricity is planning the development of four new Irish facilities, namely: Richfield, Co Wexford, 27MW; Tournafulla, Co Limerick, 25.5MW; Bindoo, Co Cavan, 50MW; Knockastanna, Co Limerick 7.5MW.
