In the last three months Ambau GmbH has produced two towers for Siemens Wind Power GmbH at its plant in Cuxhaven, Germany.
These purpose-built types consist of five segments, with a height of 120 metres and a diameter of 6.5 metres, and are to be employed in the Anzetel research park at Wehlens, where offshore turbines are tested on an onshore site. Erecting the towers requires the use of one of the five largest cranes in Europe. The turbine employed is the Siemens 6.0MW wind power unit with direct drive.
