Enercon has converted its E-160 EP5 E1 prototype, installed at the Wieringermeer wind energy test site in the Netherlands, to the more powerful E-160 EP5 E2.The turbines has been fitted with a new generator and hub and in addition, changes were made to the E-module. The foundation, tower and nacelle were not changed. The nominal power of the E-160 EP5 E2 is 5.5MW.
