SSP Technology designs a rotor blade for Samsung with a length of 83.5 meters and a rotor diameter of 171.2 meter.
Samsung Heavy Industries from Korea has chosen SSP Technology as supplier for their new 7MW turbine. The contract covers the design and development of an 83.5 meter blade with subsequent production of one test and three prototype blades. The contract is made up of two main parts, the first one being a design agreement for the aerodynamic and structural design of the blade. The design specification for the blade has been under thorough review and testing in close cooperation with the Samsung. The second part of the agreement is a production agreement for production of the blade mould as well as test and prototype blades.
