Trelleborg’s applied technologies operation has been awarded a contract by Seaway 7, the renewables business unit of Subsea 7, to provide 281 NjordGuard cable protection systems for Vattenfall’s Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm project, located in the North Sea, Netherlands.
These will protect the inner-array power cables for 140 monopile wind turbines, as well as the array cables at the points where they meet the two offshore substations on the project, from over-bending, abrasion and fatigue. Production of the 281 NjordGuard cable protection system will take place in Trelleborg’s manufacturing facility in the North West of England.
