Adwen has begun the civil works on the site where the first prototype of its AD 8-180 will be installed, in Bremerhaven. The main components of the wind turbine will arrive gradually until the installation starts in the fourth quarter of the year.
They chose for Bremerhaven to stay close to their manufacturing facilities, their team of engineers and the Fraunhofer IWES test bench which currently carries out the drivetrain tests.
