To optimise wind turbines and entire wind farms and extend their lifetime, new technologies and control techniques are being investigated at the University of Oldenburg, Germany, as part of the Center for Wind Energy Research (ForWind). On the cover you see the experimental set-up for visualising the flow around a rotating blade of the model wind turbine. On page 6 you can read more about their research.
