Brüel & Kjær Vibro has been selected for the retrofit installation and monitoring of 25 wind turbines (50MW) at the San Marcos Wind Farm, which are currently in the process of being erected onsite.
The San Marcos wind farm, the second largest wind project in Honduras, is located in the south west portion of the country near the Nicaragua border. Vientos de Electrotecnia (VESA) is responsible for developing the wind farm. The all-inclusive monitoring solution to be implemented at San Marcos, hosted by the Brüel & Kjær Vibro Surveillance and Diagnostic Service Centre, is intended to continuously and remotely monitor each wind turbine to automatically detect developing faults early. When a fault is detected, the Brüel & Kjær Vibro analysts will perform diagnosis and analysis and issue actionable alarm reports, in order to optimize operation and maintenance.
