CREIA new cooperation partner for WindEnergy Print E-mail
Tuesday, 15 November 2005
The Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA) is the new cooperation partner of WindEnergy 2006 – International Trade Fair. CREIA is China’s largest renewable energies association, with more than 100 member companies, and will from now on give its support and backing to WindEnergy as the exclusive trade fair in Europe. This partnership enables WindEnergy to develop one of the largest growth markets in the energy sector. China's electricity demand is practically exploding. The Government in Beijing set the course for renewables with entry into force of the Renewable Energies Act on 1 January 2006, aiming to derive 10 per cent of the country's power from renewable energy sources by 2010. The intention is to install wind turbines with a total output of 4000MW by then, rising to about 20,000MW by 2020. By comparison, China reported 764MW at year end 2004.
