Gamesa
Corporación Tecnológica starts-up its production facilities in Tianjin, China. The
production and assembly of its main wind turbine generator components are
concentrated at this site, including: the generators, gearboxes, blades and
nacelle assembly at a annual pace of production of 700MW.
Gamesa's industrial
project in China has involved an investment of nearly € 40 million and has led
to the creation of 1,000 jobs. Further Gamesa and Longyuan have entered into a
new agreement for the supply of 405 Gamesa G5X-850 kW wind turbine generators
with a total power of 344MW. The wind turbine generators will be manufactured
in Gamesa's production facilities in Tianjin. The contract includes the supply
of wind turbine generators (without towers), the supervision of their assembly
and start-up, along with two years of operation and maintenance. The equipment
will be delivered throughout 2009 to seven wind farms located in different
Chinese provinces, and the agreement's value amounts to around € 200 million.
