Prof. Dr. Fritz Vahrenholt, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of REpower Systems AG has notified his resignation of the supervisory committee with effect from 10 July 2008 to avoid possible prospective conflicts of interest.

Vahrenholt has been Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board since 1 January 2008. Before, he was CEO of REpower Systems AG, for more than six years. Vahrenholt's resignation relates to his current position as CEO of RWE Innogy GmbH; REpower and the RWE subsidiary are currently in negotiation for framework agreements concerning the delivery of wind energy turbines with a total rated power of up to 1,900MW. The REpower supervisory board is going to promptly deliberate on a potential successor.
