Amphenol Industrial Operations has introduced a new improved version of its RADSOK-based SurLok field-installable compression lug.

RoHS-compliant, SurLok compression lugs offer good performance in terms of higher ampacity, lower insertion force, higher cycle durability and increased reliability. They are particularly suitable for use where increased amperage is required to sustain generated electricity levels, like in wind energy applications. SurLok provides a secure connection to ensure voltage and amperage levels are maintained throughout the duration of the application. The head of the pin locks into place when mated with the RADSOK connector and a plastic housing then clips over the connector as a protective cover. SurLok is available in four sizes with seven ampacity options; a 3.6 mm contact (70 A with 8 AWG), a 5.7 mm contact (120 A with 6 AWG or 4 AWG), an 8.0 mm contact (200 A with 1 AWG or 2 AWG) and a 10.3 mm contact (350 A with 1/0 AWG or 2/0 AWG).
