Hansen Drives will start production in India and China |

Hansen's investment plan in Coimbatore, South
India, amounting to € 270 million, aspires to produce the first wind turbine
gearbox by the end of September.
The factory which is located in a Special
Economic Zone will reach its full production capacity in the financial year
2012, with an annual production capacity of 5,000MW. Over 800 people will be
employed in Coimbatore. Hansen's factory in India will use the same production
installations, processes and methodology as in the Belgian plants.
Further Hansen has signed
an agreement with Beichen Hi-Tech Industrial Park in Tianjin for the building
of a factory for wind turbine gearboxes. According to the agreement, Hansen
will build its Chinese factory in the economical zone of the state Beichen, and
the company will be supported in this by the developers. Hansen has entered
into a land lease agreement for a piece of land of 250,000 m², on which the
factory will be built. Hansen expects to assemble and test the first gearbox in
China in March 2009 and start local manufacturing by September 2009. The entire
project requires an investment of about € 200 million. Hansen plans to produce
the first gearbox by the end of this year. Expected at full capacity as from
April 2011, the factory will have a production capacity of 3,000MW annually,
and employ some 600 people.
