Nordex has completed the Cadau I wind farm in Sardinia with 14 S77/1500 kW turbines producing a total output of 21MW for its customer Energie Verde Srl, a subsidiary of the listed Danish company Greentech Energy Systems A/S.

Installed on tubular towers measuring 61.5 meters in height, the wind turbines will be producing around 46 million kilowatt/hours of clean electricity per year. To cope with the high local temperatures, the 14 turbines will be supplied in the special hot-climate version. Energia Verde Srl awarded Nordex the contract for turnkey execution of the project in 2006. Nordex was responsible for the main construction preparations such as the foundation works, access roads, cabling as well as the installation of a substation and the whole project execution.
