Visser & Smit Hanab UK Ltd has signed a contract with Gunfleet Sands Ltd (c/o Dong Energy) for the installation of approximately 9km of export cable for the Gunfleet Sands wind farm.

The Gunfleets Sands windfarm is situated at the east coast of the UK approximately 7 kilometers to the South East of Clacton-on-Sea. The contract includes transportation and installation of the export cable and the landfall at Clacton-on-Sea by installation of horizontal drilled conduit pipe underneath the sea defence system. For the horizontal drilling activities V&SH intend to use one their larger sized drilling rigs. The landfall activities including directional drilling operations shall be executed in the second quarter of 2008 and the marine installation works are scheduled for the third quarter of 2008. The project shall be performed by the offshore cable installation business unit of Visser & Smit Hanab, Volker Stevin Marine Contracting.
