Invenergy Wind LLC announced that it has contracted with General Electric Company (GE) to purchase an additional 800MW of wind turbines for use in projects slated for construction in 2009 in North America and Europe.

Along with Invenergy's previous purchases of 600MW for 2007 and 700MW for 2008 from GE, this provides 2,100MW of wind turbines for Invenergy's 2007, 2008 and 2009 build programs.
