Moventas is investing approximately €115 million in a new wind turbine gear factory in Central Finland reflecting strong growth in demand for wind turbine gears.

Factory construction will commence in Autumn 2007 and the building is due to complete in late 2008. The overall production capacity will be taken onstream progressively during 2009. The new factory will double Moventas' wind turbine gear production capacity. The investment follows a €100 million investment program, which was announced in February of this year. A majority of this program is directed to production capacity improvement in the current factory and a significant construction work is presently going on. The new investment covers the production facilities of approximately 22,500 m² and new production machinery. Since the factory will be constructed to completely new premises, the production facilities can be optimized for megawatt scale wind turbines.
