The Supervisory Board of REpower Systems AG has approved the foundation of a joint venture between REpower and the rotor blade manufacturer Abeking & Rasmussen (A&R).

The joint venture is to produce rotor blades developed by REpower. REpower and A&R have stakes of 51% and 49% respectively in the joint venture. The location of the approximately 16,000 sqm blade factory is to be in Bremerhaven, close to the planned production hall for the REpower 5M offshore wind energy turbines. Independent from the rotor blade production in Bremerhaven, the planning for a rotor blade production facility in Portugal continues.
