The launch of WWEC 2007 took place in the Sheraton Hotel in Buenos Aires and was attended by 150 representatives from governments, foreign embassies, industry, media and science. 

The 6th World Wind Energy Conference & Renewable Energy Exhibition will be organised by WWEA jointly with the Argentine Wind Energy Association AAEE in Mar del Plata, Argentina, from 2 till 4 October 2007. The WWEC 2007 will be the first international wind energy event ever held in Latin America. So far, governments and companies from all over the world have announced their active participation in WWEC 2007. The organisers expect more than 600 delegates from 50 countries.Deadline for submission of abstracts is 30 April.
