Prysmian has been awarded a contract worth more than € 300 million with Réseau de Transport d'Électricité (RTE) to develop submarine cable links to connect three planned offshore wind farms to the mainland power grid in France. The three projects, Fécamp, Calvados and Saint Nazaire, are to be individually triggered during the period of the contract.

Iberdrola has successfully installed the first of the 70 wind turbines of the Wikinger offshore wind farm, a renewable energy infrastructure that the company has developed in the German waters of the Baltic Sea. Wikinger, with an investment of almost € 1,400 million, will be capable of generating up to 350MW of clean energy.

Siemens Wind Power will provide complete offshore wind power plant solutions including foundations for the EnBW Hohe See offshore wind project. Starting in early 2018 the wind farm will be installed at a site 90 kilometers north of the German island Borkum in the North Sea at water depths of up to 40 meters. The 71 wind turbines of the type SWT-7.0-154 rated at 7MW each will be manufactured at Siemens’ new nacelle plant in Cuxhaven beginning in mid-2018 and will be shipped to the project harbor in early 2019.

Enbridge has acquired an effective 50 per cent ownership in the 497MW Hohe See offshore wind project from EnBW, a German utility, who will retain the remaining interest. Hohe See is a late design-stage project located in the North Sea, 98 kilometers off the coast of Germany.
