Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are increasingly important assets that complement the growth of the renewable energy industry by storing energy when production exceeds demand, and by providing services, such as frequency control, to the grid.
The Flex solution is a versatile, standardised energy storage platform for utility, commercial and industrial users. Supporting multiple cell technologies and designed to maximise energy and power density of BESS deployments. In collaboration with Renewable Energy Systems (RES) Flex has completed the first successful deployment of an energy storage solution for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) at its National Wind Technology Center (NWTC) in Boulder, Colorado.
